Competition Terms & Conditions

SPECIAL TERMS & CONDITIONS FOR ASOS FOUNDATION MISSION COMPETITION

ASOS Foundation Mission: We work with others to provide life changing opportunities, support and inspiration for young people.  Our partners : The Prince’s Trust in the UK, Udayan Care in India and SOKO in Kenya.

The ASOS Foundation is a Charitable Trust held with the Charities Aid Foundation.  CAF is a charity established under English law and is registered at the Charity Commission under charity registration number 268369.

Note: These special terms and conditions override the competition general terms and conditions if there is any conflict between them.

COMPETITION DATES: 
This competition opens at 10am (GMT) on 17th November and closes at 9am (GMT)  on 12th December 2011 .

THE CRITERIA: 
1.	To enter the competition put together a themed outfit focusing on combining items for a loved one at Christmas; adding your own personal touch and trend-led inspiration.  This will be known as a Gift Guide (“Gift Guide”) .
2.	Each Gift Guide must be given a title and description that explains the personal interpretation you have given to your Gift Guide.  You must use at least five items from the Fashion Finder shop and one item from the competition collection and theme your outfit for a loved one, such as mother, father or sibling. 
3.	Once you have given your Gift Guide a title and suitable description, submit it for entry.
4.	You may enter as many Gift Guides as you like, but each entrant will only be eligible to win one prize.

ASOS will credit £1 to the ASOS Foundation for every Gift Guide created and submitted for entry to this Competition up to a maximum of 10 Gift Guides per entrant.

THE PRIZES:
If we love it, you could be in with a chance of winning one of the following prizes:
1st prize: £150 donation to the ASOS FOUNDATION on your behalf and £150 shopping voucher to use on the ASOS site.
2nd prize: £75 donation to the ASOS FOUNDATION on your behalf and £75 shopping voucher to use on the ASOS site.
3rd prize: £25 donation to the ASOS FOUNDATION on your behalf and £25 shopping voucher to use on the ASOS site.

The competition will be judged on the criteria that the entrant has understood the Christmas Gift Guide theme and translated it to be unique to them and creative fashion style in equal parts.

The donation will be made directly to ASOS Foundation by a member of the Fashion Finder team. The winners will be notified and sent a thank you email.

JUDGING:	
A member of the ASOS Fashion Finder team and Cressida Dimmock (ASOS Foundation representative) will judge all valid Competition entries the next UK working day following the close of the Competition, basing their decision on creative fashion style and interpretation of the Christmas Gift Guide theme in equal parts, and will select a first prize, second prize and third prize winner that they consider to have posted the best outfits according to these criteria. 
The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. 
The prize only includes what is expressly stated to be part of the prize.

Goods purchased on prize vouchers can only be returned in accordance with our returns policy and cannot be refunded to cash. Any refunds due to returns under our returns policy will be refunded to the original prize voucher used to purchase the goods.

All prize winners will be contacted by ASOS via the email address registered to their ASOS Fashion Finder account within 24 hours of the judging taking place.

EXTRA NOTES ON ELIGIBILITY:
Entry to this competition is not permitted for residents of Italy, Spain, France and Germany.
ASOS staff and agencies and anyone involved in the running of this Competition are not permitted to enter.

As this is an online competition, it is necessary for you to have access to the internet and to have an active email address. 
It is possible to enter more than once if you’re feeling creative, but please be aware that you cannot win more than one prize level within each competition. By submitting your entry, you warrant that your entry is an original work, belongs to you and has not been copied from others, and does not violate the rights of any other person or entity.

JUDGING:
Most of our competitions are open to subjective interpretation, therefore they will be judged by an independent judge or a panel including one independent judge. In these cases all entries received by the closing date stated on the promotional material will normally go through a shortlist process and the winners will be selected by the judge(s) from the shortlist. 
If we run a competition with a prize draw, then winners will be selected from all the valid qualifying entries by a random draw.
The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. The prize only includes what is expressly stated to be part of the prize.

WINNERS:
You are responsible for providing us with accurate and up-to-date contact details. We will not be liable for any failure, delay or inability to contact you. In some circumstances you will need to provide a valid delivery address in order to receive your prize.
If you are a potential winner, we will contact you at the email address you provided and/or through the Fashion Finder messaging service within 7 days of the closing date of the competition, and may ask you to verify your personal details. If you have not replied within 48 hours or you don’t meet the eligibility requirements we mentioned above, we reserve the right to withdraw a potential prize.

PRIZES:
Prizes cannot be exchanged or substituted for a cash alternative .
Prizes are subject to availability and may be subject to a sponsor’s or supplier’s terms and conditions, which will be communicated in the competition promotional material. We reserve the right to amend prizes or the terms of the competition if the need arises. 
In the case where event tickets are awarded as a prize, it is not possible to sell or give these on to a third party. Unless otherwise stated, travel and/or accommodation will not be provided for the event. If you are unable to attend, the prize will be forfeited and retained to be distributed to the next placed entry. 
If your prize involves travelling to another country, it is your responsibility to arrange visas if necessary. We do not have any information on travel visas, nor will we become involved in the arrangement of these.
If your prize involves attending an event, be aware that unless otherwise stated we accept no responsibility for the organisation or monitoring of the event. We shall not be liable for any event that is cancelled by a third party. If you do attend an event as part of a prize, you are attending it in your personal capacity and not as an employee, agent, or representative of ASOS.com.
