While the recent severe weather warnings have had us hoping for a few flutters of Christmas snow in London, Russia is in the throes of a full-on festive white-out. Thankfully, Russia's plummeting temperatures have helped this week's Spotlight, Dania, prove something we’ve always suspected: layering can be more than just a way to fight the big freeze. Her fashion formula of lifting feminine ponti dresses and skirts with chunky cardigans, faux fur and a smattering of envy-inducing designer handbags, means it may be sub-zero, but Daria continues to look hot.

In Russia, Winters can be pretty snowy and cold, so layering is essential. I love mixing different textures in one outfit - it's my way of being stylish on frosty days! For this look I took my favourite suede shorts and added an embellished top with tulle frills. The Nordic sweater and parka coat are my modern alternatives for traditional Winter fur and shearling.

Embellished track pants by ASOS: I like the mix of sporty and glamour in these sequined track pants. The clash is fabulously modern.

Lace Dress by Fashion Rocks: I love the dusty rose colour mixed with the black lace. While the flared skirt is one of my favourites shapes.

I couldn't imagine my current wardrobe without a great variety of knits, flared dresses and skirts. They are my go-to everyday essentials.

Without any hesitation I'd raid the wardrobe of Blair Waldorfe's from Gossip Girl. I love her polished looks.
