Meet Our Spotlight
Cutesy, silly, geeky - hardly the three easiest adjectives to have listed against your daily outfit picks. But this week's Spotlight star, Dunya of Dearest Dear, is certainly the exception. Her friends may call her style geeky - always in loving affection of course - but we can't help but be envious of Dunya's on-trend mix of classic collegiate style with new season essentials. Leather, oxblood, velvet; this girl knows how to work covet-worthy trends into her signature preppy style with ease.
My black jeans are my go-to pair when all else fails, but it can get a little boring! So teaming it with a few stand out items, like the hat and burgundy socks, ensures that it looks a little more interesting but just as comfortable! This outfit takes me through from university to evening drinks, simply swapping the shoes for a slightly higher heel does the trick. I love that this outfit looks smart, but there’s still enough cute in there.

Urban Outfitters Fur Coat: There’s nothing worse than feeling cold, and this coat looks like the most snug fur coat I’ve ever seen! The lighter colour is great for dark and dreary days.
Sister Jane Velvet Dress: A few years ago I would’ve said no to anything velvet, and now I just can’t get enough! The dark red and unique collar make this my perfect winter dress.
ASOS Rib Jumper: During the colder months it's easy to look boring because of the importance of being warm, and that’s when a bright pop of colour on a jumper comes in handy!

Q & A:
What are your favourite trends for A/W’12?
Velvet is a big vibe; it updates a regular item of clothing in an instant, especially if it’s in a dark green or burgundy shade. My favourite colour has been red for years, so I've fully embraced all things oxblood this season.
What are your wardrobe workhorses?
I could not live without my black skater skirt, I have two and I flit between them depending on the outfit. I've got a fair few jumpers too, but my favourite is a dark green Mango one, it looks great with a cream blouse peeking out!
How would your friends describe your style?
Whenever they spot clothes with bows or animals on they instantly tell me it reminds them of me, so I guess it’s a mix of cutesy, geeky, and silly all in one! There’s a mix of Alexa Chung and Jess from New Girl too.
Fave fashion reads?
WishWishWish by Carrie Harwood was the main reason I got into blogging myself! Otherwise Shiny Thoughts is always one I look to for a bit of bright colour inspiration! Lost in the Haze and What Olivia Did are also faves.
