Meet Our Spotlight

Take a roll call of the season’s biggest trends (Pastels? present. Peplums? present. Prints? present!) and you’ll understand why this week’s spotlight, JazzabellesDiary, caught our eye. A fashion blogger and self-confessed colourphobe, Jazmine proves that you don’t have to abandon your personal style principles to look up-to-the-minute-hot. Using her black minimalistic wardrobe to anchor S/S12’s pretty patterns and candy colours, her Looks make for even more sartorial splendour than the catwalks themselves.

I usually stick to dark and neutral colours, but with this outfit I thought I’d take a chance and step out of my comfort zone. I based the look around candy pink jeans - a key trend for S/S'12 - and teamed them with a beautiful pair of deep burgundy heels and a matching jumper. I got the clutch bag from my local car boot sale for just a pound - it's a great find!

Croc embossed clutch at ASOS: I just adore mock croc bags, and this leather portfolio clutch is one of the prettiest I’ve seen in a long time.

Maxi skirt at ASOS: I love the simplicity of sheer maxi skirts, they are so darn easy to style and look ever so elegant.

Vintage silk top at Question-air: A classic black silk top is such a transitional piece that can easily be styled for day or evening.

Q & A:

What are your wardrobe workhorses?

When in doubt about what to wear, I always just throw on a knitted jumper with a pair of shorts or a skirt.

Best blogger reads?

I'm always inspired by other blogs. My daily reads include: What Olivia Did, Wish Wish Wish and Park & Cube.

Earliest fashion memory?

I loved the Spice Girls when I was little, so I do remember wearing Baby Spice inspired white platform trainers.

Dream trolley-dash?

I’d definitely love to raid Freja Beha Erichsen’s wardrobe, I adore how effortless and androgynous her style is, she always looks so amazing.
