Meet Our Spotlight

Looking at her artfully languid poses and her vast stylistic range, you could be forgiven for mistaking this week’s spotlight, Lanton, for a model. Yup, fashion buyer, Lena, knows how to work a camera, and indeed how to work a trend into her personal wardrobe. Her effortless weaving of the season’s big stories with the latest must-have pieces and a signature slant on boy/girl style, has earned her much admiration from us, and her Looks a lotta love from you guys!

Favorite Look

Wool & Leather

I was late for a dinner and just threw this together. Funny enough, the outfits that I put the least amount of thought into, turn out to be the nicest ones! What I like most about this outfit is the shoes: classic, black suede pumps. They go with just about everything. I’m also very fond of my blazer. It ticks all the right boxes…wool, camel, perfect fit, and it cost me only $15 at a thrift shop!

Wool & Leather

Religion Shirt at ASOS: The sheer fabric and asymmetric shape is perfect for dressing up or down whatever the occasion.

Dries Van Noten trousers at Far Fetch: These trousers are tailored for an androgynous look but the print keeps them fun.

Platform suede shoes at ASOS: Black suede platforms are a classic item in every girls closet. I especially like the ankle detail.

Q & A:

Wardrobe essential?

My classic black Gucci horsebit hobo bag. It was a birthday present to myself and it follows me everywhere! It's the only item in my closet I would make a mad dash for if my house caught on fire.

Earliest fashion memory?

I must have been 11 or so, if not younger. My cousins and I would sneak into our aunt’s bedroom and hide in her closet to read Cosmopolitan magazine. We still laugh at this memory to this day.

Best blogger reads?

Apart from my monthly fix of Vogue, I'm a big blog reader. My blogger must-reads have to be Fashion Squad, Atlantic-Pacific and The Blonde Salad.

Whose style do you admire?

I admire the style of all those people that can’t afford to wear the latest designer fashion but still manage to look amazing. They're the people I go up to and say, “Great outfit!” and they reply back with “Thanks, it cost me only $50".
